Partnership Projects

Wesley Zaidan, in collaboration with partner organizations for the purpose of helping local communities to become self-sustainable with leadership development and skill training for the improvement of economic strength, welfare, health care, and education in Asia. These projects aim for social and economic independence through proactive participation and collaboration with the local community. This partnership project is one of the projects launched in 2020, remembering the legacy of missionaries who worked for the development of education and welfare in Japan and Asia.

 

The following is a list of partnership projects.

CHAD UNFPA NPCS RVEP


CHAD

Wesley Zaidan collaborates with CHAD, the Mission Initiative Office and the local community on the two projects in Vietnam and Laos. Each is a five-year project, which details and budget will be examined annually.

About CHAD

CHAD (Community Health & Agricultural Development)is a project started by the United Methodist Church in 2005 to build independent/sustainable communities through guidance on agriculture and hygiene. Since 2012, with the cooperation of the Methodist Church in Cambodia, UMC has worked on stable food supply by the community, diffusion on hygiene education, microcredit, and leadership development in Cambodia. In 2018, 2,643 people of 97 communities from 11 districts carried out various autonomous activities driven by the community groups.


UNFPA

Wesley Zaidan partners with UNFPA (the United Nations Population Funds) to support the project “Pathway to Gender Equality in Cambodia: Safeguarding Women and Young Girls against Gender-Based Violence”.

About UNFPA

UNFPA is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency that ensures every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and young people’s potential is fulfilled. UNFPA has been present in Cambodia since 1993 and supported the Royal Government of Cambodia to accelerate progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the International Conference on Population and Development, whose goal is to achieve universal access to services and information on sexual reproductive health and rights, reduce maternal mortality, and end all forms of GBV.


NPCS

Wesley Zaidan partners with NPCS(Nutrition Promotion & Consultancy Service) to work together to improve the well-being of women and children in the Nepal community.This project is a three-year projcet

About NPCS

NPCS is Nutrition Promotion & Consultancy Service, is a Nepali NGO founded in 2003 as a successor to United Mission to Nepali’s pioneering nutrition work with women and children in Nepal for almost 50 years, that works to improve the well-being of women and children in Nepal through good nutrition. Based in Kathmandu, they work with communities across Nepal to reduce malnutrition and raise awareness about healthy eating. Through education and a food-based approach, they empower individuals to improve each one’s well-being and create long-term change. Their vision is to see all people in Nepal living in well-nourished and thriving communities.

RVEP

Wesley Zaidan, JELA Foundation (Japan Evangelical Lutheran Association) and UNHCR Representation in Japan co-implements the “Refugee Vocational Education Programme (RVEP)”.
The “Refugee Vocational Education Programme (RVEP)” is a scholarship programme for refugees residing in Japan who face socio-economic difficulties in attending vocational schools in Japan.

JELA Foundation, formerly known as Japan Evangelical Lutheran Association, is a non-profit organization established in 1909 with roots in the Lutheran Church in the United States. Under the mission statement “We serve people in need of help in Japan and around the world with the love of Christ,” JELA Foundation carries out various public welfare projects both domestically and internationally, with focus on global child support, refugee support, and servant leadership development.

About UNHCR
