Education Fee Grants (Asia-Pacific Region)

Wesley Zaidan will provide education fee grants to students who are recommended by the president of universities in the Asia-Pacific region that are partners with United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia. 

Below is the Education Fee Grant Guidelines:

Introduction

The Grant for Education Fee of the Wesley Zaidan (Foundation) in Japan aims to help those in the degree programs of undergraduate in Asia and Pacific. The grants are awarded to the schools that are partners with United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia and recommend eligible students based on a need for the tuition fee.

1. Eligibility

  • Students who are in 2nd year or higher (ages 18-25) in the degree programs of undergraduate in Asia and Pacific.
  • Nationality must be among the developing countries with GDP per capita of under 5,000 USD
  • Applicants should be able to prove financial and/or social needs
  • GPA of B (or equivalent) or higher in the previous year
  • Priority will be given to Protestant/Catholic Christians
  • Applicants should apply through the nomination and recommendations of the schools that are partners with United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia

*NOTE : Students cannot apply directly 

2. Grant

  • The term of the grant is for up to 1 year
  • The grant is up to 2,000 USD per person and it applies to tuition only
  • The grant is sent to the school directly for the awarded students

3. Application

  • Application period:
    September 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024
  • The application will be accepted up to 2 students per school
  • Application requirements:
    1) Application form with photo
        *Please type in all information
        *Both Excel and PDF files must be submitted
    2) Personal essay (500-700 words count)
    3) A copy of the official transcript of prior program years
    4) Recommendation letter written by the president of institution
    5) Official information of the school program fee

*NOTE : Application formats are shared only with partner schools through United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia

4. Selecting Process

The Grant Selection Committees of Wesley Zaidan will look at all applications carefully according to the following steps.
1) Document screening
2) Zoom Interview (or other ways)
3) Final selection and notification by the end of November, 2024

5. Responsibilities as a Recipient

  • The recipients are required to submit a written report
  • Any changes in status and program with the institutions should be reported to Wesley Zaidan immediately

NOTE: Wesley Zaidan can cancel and/or request a refund in case of falsification of any kind and misappropriation decided by Wesley Zaidan.
