Special Activity Grants for COVID-19 Pandemic Assistance:Introducing the work of beneficiaries

We would like to introduce an authorized non-profit organization Homedoor, one of the beneficiaries of Special Activity Grants for COVID-19 pandemic assistance provided in 2020.

Homedoor provides livelihood support and offer job assistance to those in need, especially the homeless in Kita-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka Prefecture, with the aim of creating Japanese social structure that does not allow anybody to be put into homelessness.

In 2020, the number of counseling about livelihood and need for help increased due to the spread of COVID-19. In order to prevent the lack of counselors in the midst of growing needs of consultation, counselors who remotely work at home were staffed up and online counseling system was improved.

Wesley Foundation provided the grants to offer face masks, foodstuffs and commodities for those who come to consult Homedoor about their livelihood.
