従軍慰安婦問題でスピーチ
セミナーの後半は、女性の人権と開発について学んでいきました。 女性の権利に関する国連決議を読んだり、ロールプレイを通して、 他者の人権を尊重することの重要性を学んだりと興味深いセッションの 学びと実践をするときでした。
私にとって、貴重な学びと経験となったのが、従軍慰安婦の問題について 学びのときでした。 War and Women’s human rights museum に行き、従軍慰安婦に関する史料や元従軍慰安婦の方々の証言、そして従軍慰安婦問題に対する市民の運動史の展示を見ながら、 一人の日本人として知らなければならない歴史であり、向き合わなければ事実であることを 再確認する時でした。 また、この博物館は、最終的に「従軍慰安婦」という問題だけではなく、今日における紛争•テロによる女性や子どもの 人権について焦点が広げられています。「軍事と女性」というテーマの問題を取り上げているのです。 より広い視点から、そして今日も抱えている課題と結びつけて、従軍慰安婦問題に取り組むことの重要性にも気づかされる時でした。
The second half of the seminar focused on the women’s rights and developments. Issues with the comfort women gave me, especially a precious experience for me. Confronting exhibitions of War and Women’s Human Rights Museum made me reassure that this is something we have to face to Japanese. The wide coverage of contents that the museum provided made me realize that we need to work on the comfort women’s issue with wider and modern perspectives instead of focusing on the history.
また、私自身にとって、大きな貴重な経験となったのが、Wednesday Demostrationに参加したことでした。そして、そこでグループの代表として、日本大使館に向かってスピーチをしたことでした。 大使館前には100人以上のデモに参加する韓国人、そして特に若い世代が集まっていました。 今までにない緊張と責任を感じつつも、これまで従軍慰安婦の問題について学んできたことと そこから生じていた日本政府への思い、また日本人として向き合っていかなればならない 事実についてのスピーチをさせていただきました。
この経験は、私にとって貴重な経験となったことを感じつつも、スピーチしたことに関して、責任をもって 従軍慰安婦問題、また「軍事と女性」という問題について取り組んでいきたいと思わされています。 それを私は将来、教師になってなっていきたいと思っているので、この学びと経験から得た視点を大切に、 次世代のPeacemakerと共に、”平和”のために向き合っていきたいと思っています。 Peacemakerになる思いを新たにする時にもなり、与えられた機会に感謝しています。
The high light of my comfort women learning experience was the participation in the Wednesday Demonstration. There, I made a speech as a representative of our group to the Embassy of Japan. In front of over 100 Koreans, including the youth, I was very nervous and felt significant responsibility. I honestly stated what I learned, what I think of the Japanese government, and what we need to confront as Japanese. I will keep walking as a peace maker and when I become a teacher, I would like to walk together with other peacemakers of the coming generations. It was such a significant experience for me with responsibility and awareness. I am very grateful that this opportunity was given to me.
