Our Scholarship Recepients at ARI

Asian Rural Institute (ARI) nurtures and trains rural leaders for a life of sharing. Leaders, both women and men, who live and work in grassroots rural communities primarily in Asia, Africa and the Pacific, form a community of learning each year together with staff and other residents.

Wesley Foundation
To support their learning, Wesley Foundation provide scholarships to participants. This year, our scholarship recepients are Ms. K. T. Ni San from Myanmar (Photo left) and Mr. Michael Tamba from Liberia (right).

Ni San is from Chin State. After a year training at ARI, she plans to address transportation issues and implement new agricultural models in my community. Her training focus is on “sustainable livestock raising and rice cultivation, especially with machinery.”

Michael is a pest management specialist. “Recognizing many farmers lack even basic training in Liberia, my work is to provide opportunities for them to improve livelihood through new skill acquisition, says he. “In order to form farming corporation one day, ” he would concentrate on substantial trainings.”
